v15 v16 23 23 24 24 == Installation == 25 What you need: 26 * A Powermax+ (other powermax variants may work too)25 === What you need === 26 * A Powermax+ (other Powermax variants may work too) 27 27 * A Visonic Powermax+ RS232 Interface 28 * A serial to USB converter that is recognized by vera 28 * A Serial-to-USB converter that is recognized by Vera, like [http://www.usbgear.com/computer_cable_details.cfm?sku=USBG-232MM&cats=199&catid=199%2C461%2C106%2C1009%2C601 this] one. For best compatibility with Vera, I recommend a serial adapter with FTDI or Prolific chipset. 29 30 ==== UI4 only ==== 29 31 * The 4 plugin files (I_Powermax.xml, D_Powermax.json, S_Powermax.xml, D_Powermax.xml) 30 32 * Stable version is currently 0.6 which is available here: [http://code.mios.com/trac/mios_visonic-powermax/changeset/7/tags/0.6?old_path=%2F&format=zip] 31 33 * If you like the most recent stuff use the files in "Trunk" of the repository. However, be aware that code in "Trunk" is work in progress. 32 34 33 Howto: 34 * Attach the RS232 Interface to the Powermax .35 === How To === 36 * Attach the RS232 Interface to the Powermax panel. 35 37 * Connect the RS232 Interface to the USB/Serial and that to Vera. 36 * Upload the plugin files; create a device using the files and explain the device to use the USB/Serial port 38 ==== UI4 ==== 39 * Upload the plugin files: in the '''Toolbox''' section open '''MiOS Developers''' >> '''Luup Files''' and upload all the files you downloaded. If the '''Restart Luup after upload''' checkbox is checked, uncheck it, and click '''GO'''. 40 * Create the alarm panel device: open '''Create Device'''. 41 * In the '''!UpnpDevFilename''' input box enter ''D_Powermax.xml''. 42 * In the '''Description''' input box enter a name for the panel device, e.g. ''Powermax Alarm Panel''. 43 * Click '''Create device'''. 44 * Explain the device to use the USB/Serial port: 45 1. Open '''Serial Port configuration'''. 46 2. Select the alarm panel device you just created form the '''Used by device''' drop-down list. 47 * Close this window and Save. 48 === UI5 ==== 49 * Install the plugin 50 37 51 * In the Powermax device advanced control tab specify the Powermax zones you would like to have in Vera in the variable altid in form of "Z01,Z02,Z03,Z11". After reload zone devices should become visible. 38 52 * Enter the installer mode on the Powermax panel. Go to the menu where you define a Powerlink device. Activate the Powerlink device. This should trick Powermax into believing it is talking to a Powerlink (but it is Vera).
