Wake-on-LAN Plugin

This plugin can be used to wake a machine up. The remote machine must support the Wake-on-LAN feature. Up to 10 MAC addresses can be stored. The MAC addresses can be written with both upper case and lower case letters, and can have either the ':'(Unix style) separator or the '-'(Windows style) separator, but not both.

Example Uses

  1. Have your "I'm home" scene include turning on your computer.
  2. When on vacation you can leave your computer off and wake it up should you need to connect to it remotely.

(Currently there are no events defined for this plugin so creating scene #1 isn't possible.)

Prerequisites

The plug-in requires one of the following packages to be installed on your Vera:

  • ether-wake (included in Vera)
  • etherwake
  • wakeonlan

See http://wiki.micasaverde.com/index.php/OpenWRT for instructions on correcting the package management system.

Limitations

Name cannot contain the '#' character.
